Waterford Physiotherapy & Sports Injury Clinic is a Waterford based Chartered Physiotherapy Clinic founded by Peter Keane. Situated on the Ballinakill Shopping centre Dunmore Road, Waterford and in Kelly’s Pharmacy, High Street, Dungarvan. With 17 years expertise and experience, we provide the highest quality of care by educating our clients on how to function and achieve optimum health in their lives.
The treatment sessions provided are all one-to-one with a Chartered Physiotherapist and each client is treated individually. As part of treatment, clients are guided in performing detailed therapeutic exercises that are customized to meet their goals with physiotherapy. Exercises are designed to improve strength, stabilization, range of motion, balance, and an overall high level of performance.
Our Clinic is open for on the day and evening appointments as well as Saturday mornings.

Peter graduated with an Honours Degree in Physiotherapy from Kings College University in London in 1995. He is the owner and manager of Waterford Physiotherapy and Sports Injury Clinic in Waterford City and Dungarvan. He is a member of the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists and is also registered with CORU, the Health and Safety Authority in Ireland for professional therapists.
Peter worked with the HSE at a senior level for 20 years before going into private practice specialising in musculoskeletal and neurological injuries. He has extensive post graduate certification in Sports Medicine and Musculoskeletal Conditions. He provided treatment for high performance and international level athletes at Sports Ireland and is an active member of the International Society of Biomechanics in Sport. He is also a licensed Dry Kneedling Clinician and Graston Technique provider.
He is also the Clinical Director of PHYSIOMOTION3D LTD, an industry-leading physiotherapy company. It specialises in and provides high-tech 3D Running/Walking Analysis Systems and Physiotherapy Solutions to the general public in a clinical setting. The only physiotherapy service of its kind in Ireland. Peter provides many services through PHYSIOMOTION3D such as a gait analysis, which is fantastic for runners and walkers. PHYSIOMOTION3D also provides sports massages and reflexology appointments, dry kneedling through their massage therapy clinic. He also provides 3D Foot Analysis Clinic and prescription orthotics and insoles.

Our Chartered Physiotherapist will do a full assessment, treatment and rehabilitation programme on the initial consultation. Our Chartered Physiotherapist will ask a series of questions to learn about your problem. Based on these findings, our physiotherapist will then ask to perform certain movements to further diagnose the source and cause of your problem. During the initial assessment, there will also be some hands on treatment to further assess your problem. Once a proper diagnosis is given, our physiotherapist will begin treating the problem and before the session ends and if appropriate a rehabilitation programme will be given to further compliment your recovery.
We may need to expose your injured body part in order to correctly diagnose and treat you.
Depending on the condition we are treating, will depend on how much clothing may need to be removed. If you have a lower limb problem then shorts are appropriate. If you have a neck or shoulder problem, females! Please wear a singlet with small straps. You will be able to change into appropriate clothing at the clinic prior to consultation. We strive to maintain your modesty and comfort at all times.

As Chartered Physiotherapists, we are recognized by all major insurance companies. The amount that you can claim depends on your plan. Treatments are also tax deductible via Med – 1 form.
It takes approximately 45 – 50 minutes to realistically complete a comprehensive and effective session.
